Kelsey Lawrence – Hamilton, NJ
The arts have always been a source of peace and therapeutic release for me. In 2014, I was diagnosed with MS, and neuropathy in my hand and fatigue began to limit my ability to participate in music, my default expression of the arts. Playing string instruments or singing, once my primary forms of artistic expression, can sometimes cause pain or exhaustion. Participating in MSAA’s Improving Lives Through Art program helped me realize I could still create art and express myself without exceeding my physical limitations. As The MS Ducky, I find endless inspiration in landscapes, whether captured through photography or painted on canvas. Over the past year, I’ve continued to refine my style and technique in acrylic painting, exploring new methods and pushing my creative boundaries. This continuing journey has been deeply fulfilling and transformative.
