Vanessa Willison – Dorchester, NE

I’ve had a lifelong interest in photography. During college, my major in photography changed after taking a jewelry and small metals class. My interest in working with metals eventually evolved into pursuing a welding qualification with the hopes of creating large sculptures. But I wasn’t aware that multiple sclerosis was going to drastically change my path in life. I’ve returned to photography because it works with my daily challenges and gives me a creative outlet that is not too physically demanding. Photography also reminds me to be aware that art surrounds us everywhere, all the time, and Life is sublime. I always hope that the viewer is drawn into unexpected details in my photos because I feel that will transform the subject of the photo for each individual viewer.
