The day before my 33rd birthday I got a pedicure. My feet were tingling for days, and I was determined that the nail tech scrubbed too hard. Within a week, the tingling turned into half my body going numb. I was admitted into the hospital and one month later received my MS diagnosis. I was scared and confused. How could someone so healthy have a body that is attacking itself? What if I can’t use my hands and design jewelry anymore as my career?
While in the hospital, I dreamt up a jewelry collection that I wanted to raise awareness for MS with and aid in research for a cure. The collection is called “HOPE” and is centered around butterflies and the color orange. Butterflies are a symbol of transformation, positive change, and what the MRI of a brain looks like. Orange is the color for MS.
