Amy Shifflett – Batesville, VA
I was 40 years old when I was diagnosed with RRMS and at that time, I thought my life was over. I was scared, very scared. I was a preschool teacher at the time and was attending college working toward my degree in criminal justice. I completed my Associate’s degree and decided to stop there due to my diagnosis. I had to quit working in 2008 due to symptoms from MS. I was going crazy just sitting at home. I taught myself how to make dream catchers and sold them for a while. I started pyrography in 2019 and really love doing this. I have made many wood burnings for family and friends and have also sold some of the artwork I have done. I love working with my hands and hope I can continue to do so.
