I was diagnosed with MS in 1992. As a registered architect, I worked as a construction manager in New York City. Due to physical and cognitive symptoms, I stopped working 5 years ago.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I started drawing birds every day for 100 days. I remember reading that if you want to get good at drawing something; you have to draw the same thing every day. At first it was a bit of a chore. However, I slowly started to look forward to a new bird each morning. And I learned quite a bit in this journey, discovering birds of which I never knew. The hour I spent drawing birds, became the best part of my day, when there weren’t many options for going out during the pandemic.
