Manorama Gupta – Cedar Park, TX
I was diagnosed in 2010 with MS, and I painted these 3 paintings between 2012 to 2014. I painted whatever I felt like painting. Later, I realized I painted my feelings on canvas, and created a series of 3 paintings, depicting my journey with MS, and I feel many of other MSers too. I named this series “Grief to Solace.” My first painting is “Acceptance of Solitude,” which is the beginning of MS journey, when you start accepting your condition and circumstances emerging from it. My second painting is “The Joy of Solitude,” which was the second stage of my MS journey, where you are not just living in grief, but you actually start seeking enjoyment in your new life. My third painting is “Solace in Solitude,” which I feel is the third and last stage of MS journey, when you leave all the fears behind and you find peace with your condition and circumstances, and this becomes your life!
