He received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his neurology residency—serving as Chief Resident—at Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Smoot has been a principal investigator on numerous clinical trials evaluating disease modifying therapies\, treatment transitions\, and real-world safety and tolerability outcomes. He has authored multiple peer reviewed publications in major MS journals and has presented extensively at AAN and ECTRIMS. Dr. Smoot is also a member of MSAA’s Healthcare Advisory Council.
