Marie Olmstead – Ogilvie, MN

I’ve always enjoyed art, but it wasn’t until I lost 90% of my hearing, because of rare nerve damage from MS, that I really began to embrace painting. I was diagnosed with MS at 28 and lost my hearing at 30. Painting helped me express my pain and grief over the drastic changes. MS and my hearing loss have been a blessing in disguise, however, because I would have never began painting again without them.
