Marianne Lugenbuhl – Plattenville, LA

My name is Marianne Lala Lugenbuhl… I have MS. I believe I got MS from my dad. My dad was never diagnosed but I drag my leg just like he did. My journey began when I fell in a grocery parking lot and broke my arm. I wound up at the hospital and after going through three doctors, they concluded I had MS after a brain scan showed lesions.

I was a prop artist for a New Orleans TV station, I did cake artwork for various bakeries and artwork for a New Orleans Mardi Gras float company. Aside from the way I walked, my hand (and art) was the next to go.

I’m not giving up but this mural is my swan song… it took me 22 hours over a period of two weeks with numb hands to complete this painting.
