Leo Balzano – Nashua, NH

My work is both a passion and profound source of personal fulfillment. In 2006, I was diagnosed with Relapsing-Remitting MS and bounced back and forth between Rebif and Copaxone. The MS forced me to retire early. As I communicated with my Neurologist over a period of several months, I was informed that my MS dated back to my year of duty in Vietnam. Of late, my MS is now diagnosed as Secondary Progressive.

The great news is that after I left work, I returned to my real passion – Art. At first, I was able to work in acrylics. However, as time passed it became difficult to hold brushes. I was able to find a medium that did not require a steady hand.

This past February, I had a one-man one month show at a nearby University. MS has awakened a new life for me.
