Ronda Lynn Thompson-Jordan – Gramercy, LA

My name is Ronda Jordan and I am 51 yrs. Old. I was diagnosed with MS in 1992 in Dallas Texas where I was raised. Battling MS has been difficult however I have always lived my life to the fullest despite it. I married my husband “Billy” 10 years ago and had to move away from my home and family in to live with him in Southern Louisiana. A culture shock would be putting it mildly and I had a long and hard time making my home here. My husband is a Sheriff’s detective which brings many stressful situations along with enduring multiple hurricanes and our home burning down. Life on the Bayou was not fun for me! We share a love for fishing, so we bought a camp (lake home) on the bayou and began spending our time on the water. Slowly I began to discover the beauty here and while painting the scenery I began to feel a positive change about my life here. My artwork brought me comfort and finally a sense of finding and loving my new home. Since my outlook has changed so has my health. I am doing better and feel more confident that I can continue to fight this disease. I hope you too can see the peaceful beauty of Southern Louisiana. Funny how things change and come full circle because I am actually a native as I was born in Louisiana.
