This section lists the four parts of Medicare and explains how the ACA will help individuals save money with preventative services and prescriptions. More detailed information is provided on Medicare Parts C and D, including specific changes to the "donut hole." A helpful glossary of healthcare terms is also included.Go to this section
Please note Medicare open enrollment for plan year 2014 runs October 15th-December 7th and plans will go into effect on January 1st. If you are happy with your current Medicare plan then you do not need to take any action, but please be sure to double check your plan’s drug formulary as covered medications can change from year to year.
This section provides some basic information on the ACA changes to non-Medicare insurance, which includes private insurance, Medicaid, and CHIP. In 2014, non-Medicare insurance coverage will be obtained through one centralized platform called the Health Insurance Marketplace. Open enrollment began on October 1, 2013.
